You can upgrade weapons and armor with upgrade scrolls, after each level the items become stronger, yet the chances become lower and lower. If the upgrade fails, the item is lost!

When you are first starting, the most effective item is your weapon, so start by getting your weapon to +7. Then buy NPC gear and get each of them to +7 too. Travel to the NPCs

You'll just need gold to buy the gear and scrolls, so leave your character with Code open so your character farms gold.

First you need to buy scrolls from the NPC in Town. Basic scrolls are 1,000 gold each.
